Oak Quarry
Oak Quarry features four sets of tee boxes to test every skill level. It
offers the finest playing surfaces with greens in Pennlinks Bentgrass
and fairways and roughs in 419 Hybrid Bermuda. The practice facility has
an all grass driving range with chipping and putting greens.Oak Quarry owes its unique settings to a long history of mining for
marble in the Jensen Quarry, which in its operating heyday supplied
limestone, marble and 88 various minerals for the construction of roads,
large buildings and private residences in the greater Los Angeles area.
During World War I, Jensen Quarry was a major source of marble located
only in this area of the Inland Empire. It was abandoned in 1979.
Twenty-two years later, Dr. Gil Morgan and Schmidt-Curley Design laid
out one of California’s most incredible golf courses.Majestically situated in the Jurupa Mountains, this picturesque course
winds through the white-faced, jagged terrain of the renowned Jensen
Quarry. In its operating heyday, the Jensen Quarry supplied limestone,
marble and 88 various minerals for the development and construction of
roads, large buildings and private residences in the Los Angeles area.
Today, the abandoned rock quarry, with its rich history dating back to
the early 1900s, has been brought back to life for all to enjoy its
place of prominence in Southern California folklore.
