Trophy Club Country Club
Long before Europeans arrived, the Torrey Pines area was home to the
Kumeyaay. Their lands extended from the Pacific Ocean south to what is
now Ensenada, Mexico, east to the sand dunes of the Colorado River in
the Imperial Valley, and north through the Warner Springs Valley, to
what is now Oceanside and Highway 78. These lands were linked together
by vast trading networks. The community was developed in 1973 by developers Johnson and Loggins, who created the community as a housing development surrounding the country club. The town was named for the original plan that the Country Club would house the trophy collections of golf legend Ben Hogan. The town was incorporated in 1985.Home to the only course designed by golf-great Ben Hogan, and the
equally challenging Kathy Whitworth golf course designed by Arthur
Hills, Trophy Club offers tennis, swimming, fitness and dining in a
casual upscale family environment.
