Kruse And Muer Rochester
Since the start of our company in 1988, I have committed myself to
providing the community with restaurants that are friendly, upscale,
affordable and simply great! Having spent seventeen years with Chuck
Muer, I learned the value of securing only the finest and freshest
ingredients for our recipes and then consistently preparing those
ingredients with care and attention to detail. Chuck Muer, of the famed Charley’s Crab restaurants, and Bill Kruse
began their friendship back in 1972 when Bill was hired by Chuck as an
Assistant Dining Room Manager. Over the years, Bill and Chuck became
very dear friends who shared a passion for great food and good times.
Their time spent sitting in a duck blind sharing a brandy and a cigar,
fishing off the back of a boat, or traveling throughout the country in
search of new and interesting ideas for use in their own restaurants,
provided the two with countless hours to develop a shared vision for
what a truly great neighborhood restaurant ought to be. In 1988, Bill and Chuck became business partners and opened their
first Kruse & Muer Quality Foods Restaurant in what is now the
Village of Rochester Hills. Through many years of hard work and ever
evolving ideas about food and service, Bill and Chuck continued to grow
their partnership to include The Rochester Chop House and Kabin Kruser’s
Oyster Bar. Today there are four Kruse & Muer restaurants in all.
And although Chuck has since passed away, his lifelong friend and
partner, Bill Kruse, continues to grow the company based upon Chuck’s
energy, enthusiasm, and vision for greatness.
